Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us, including:
- account information such as your email address, authentication data, and profile details like username, display currency, avatar, and time zone;
- portfolio data such as positions, transactions, snapshots, financial planning inputs, and imported files or spreadsheets;
- financial profile details you choose to provide, such as age range, yearly income, risk preference, and any goals or context you write for the AI advisor;
- AI feature inputs, including prompts, messages, and files you submit when you use AI features. AI data sharing is on by default for new accounts and can be turned off at any time in AI chat settings;
- communication data such as feedback, support messages, and email preferences; and
- usage data such as device, browser, log, cookie, and analytics information.
How We Use Information
We use personal information to:
- provide, maintain, and secure Foliofox;
- authenticate users and manage accounts;
- calculate portfolio values, analytics, and reports;
- operate AI features you choose to use;
- send account-related emails and weekly digest emails, unless you opt out of non-essential emails;
- understand product usage and improve reliability and performance; and
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms and policies.
How We Share Information
We share information only as needed to operate Foliofox, including with service providers such as:
- Supabase for authentication, database, and storage;
- Vercel for hosting and delivery;
- PostHog for product analytics;
- OpenAI for AI-powered features;
- Resend for transactional and automated emails; and
- Discord, when you submit feedback or contact us through our Discord community.
We may also disclose information if required by law or if necessary to protect Foliofox, our users, or others.
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Cookies and Analytics
Foliofox uses cookies and similar technologies for authentication, security, language and interface preferences, and analytics. If you block or remove cookies, some parts of the service may not work properly.
AI Features
AI data sharing is on by default for new accounts and can be turned off at any time in AI chat settings. When it is on and you use AI features, the prompts, messages, and files you submit may be sent to OpenAI to generate responses. Nothing is sent to OpenAI unless you use an AI feature. We may also store related conversation history and service metadata to operate, secure, and improve the feature experience inside Foliofox.
Public Portfolio Sharing
If you enable public portfolio sharing, information connected to that shared view may be visible to anyone with the link. This can include your username, avatar, asset holdings, allocation and income views, and other portfolio information included in the shared page. Public links remain available until they expire or you disable sharing.
Data Retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to operate Foliofox, provide requested features, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the service.
If you request deletion, we will delete your personal data from our active systems within 48 hours, unless we need to keep limited information for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or backup-recovery purposes.
Your Choices
You may be able to access, update, or delete information in your account settings. You can also opt out of non-essential emails using the unsubscribe link in those emails.

International Users
Foliofox and its service providers may process personal information in countries other than your own. By using Foliofox, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in those countries.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the Last Updated date above. Your continued use of Foliofox after an update means the updated policy will apply going forward.
